Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. Z. P. Patel made a visit to the Bamboo Resource Center, College of Forestry, and reviewed several works and projects ongoing in the BRC on March 17, 2023. Dr. Jayesh Pathak illustrated the different modern techniques used in making a wide variety of products including furniture, gazebos and mementos.
Hon'ble VC shared his insights by highlighting the modern age demand for Bamboo which is itself a versatile and renewable resource and can be used in a wide range of useful by-products such as bamboo charcoal, biofuels, and other applications. He also proposed to raise awareness among farmers in South Gujarat region in exploring new opportunities about the potential and benefits of bamboo cultivation and thereby increasing their income while contributing to sustainable development.
