World Bamboo Day - 2023 was celebrated by Bamboo Resource Centre, Navsari in the presence of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. Z. P. Patel as President of the function; Dr. K. Sasikumar (IFS), CCF Surat Circle as Chief Guest; Dr. N. M. Chauhan, DEE as Guest of Honor; Dr. Alka Singh, Dean ACoH as Distinguish guest and Dr. P. K. Shrivastava, Dean, College of Forestry as Convener. Dr. Jayesh Pathak, PI of the Project and Organizing Secretary elaborated on project happenings and activities during the training program.

The certificates to the participants of ‘One-week hands-on training on Bamboo’ organized for the students, farmers, and forest department field staff at Bamboo Resource Centre were distributed by dignitaries on this occasion. Dignitaries also inaugurated the workers’  bamboo cottages, bamboo curtains and exhibitions of bamboo products.

Hon’ble VC congratulated all participants for the successful completion of training and the organizing team for organizing such useful training. He stressed the need to expand bamboo plantations in and around the fields to reduce the reliance on imported bamboo raw materials, advocating for product branding that aligns with the current demands of the generation.
