It is a matter of great pride and privilege for Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari, that three Krishi Vigyan Kendras under the operational jurisdiction of NAU have been honoured with the prestigious “Best Performing KVK” Award during the 9th Annual Zonal Workshop of KVKs of ICAR–ATARI, Zone VIII, comprising Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa, held at ICAR–ATARI, Pune, from September 29 to October 01, 2026.

Among the five KVKs operating under NAU, KVK, Tapi and KVK, Surat received the prestigious “Best Performing KVK” recognition. In addition, KVK, Valsad (Ambheti) also received the same prestigious honour at the workshop.

The awards are a reflection of the dedicated efforts and outstanding contributions of the KVK teams towards agricultural extension, technology dissemination, capacity building of farmers, enhancement of farm productivity, and improvement of farmers’ livelihoods.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. Rajendra M. Naik, felicitated the respective Senior Scientists & Heads of the award-winning KVKs by handing over the certificates and congratulated the entire teams for their commendable performance. He appreciated their sustained efforts in reaching agricultural technologies to farmers and encouraged them to continue their exemplary work for the benefit of the farming community.

The award ceremony was witnessed by Dr. H. R. Sharma, Director of Extension Education; Prof. Jaimin Naik, Director of Students’ Welfare; Dr. Pathik Patel, Dean, NMCA; and Dr. Lalit Mahatma, Nodal Officer, Natural Farming.

This remarkable achievement is a testament to the teamwork, commitment and farmer-centric approach of NAU’s KVKs and brings great honour to the University.
