Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, NAU, Navsari, Dr. R.M.Naik visited the strengthened Natural Farming facilities at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Dediapada, Narmada on 19.09.2026 accompanied by Dr. Timur R. Ahlawat, Director of Research & Dean PGS; Dr. Hemant Sharma, Director of Extension Education; Prof. Jaimin R. Naik, Director of Student Welfare and Dr. Lalit Mahatma, Associate Director of Research and Nodal Officer - Natural Farming.

Senior Scientist and Head Dr. H. U. Vyas, briefed the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and other dignitaries about the facilities strengthened at the KVK and the Natural Farming activities being undertaken there.

The KVK has an excellent model of Natural Farming demonstration, including a mango orchard and vegetable crops. The KVK regularly prepares and demonstrates various Natural Farming inputs, including Jivamrut, Bijamrut, Ghanjivamrut, Dashparni Ark, Neemastra, Brahmastra, etc., and provides practical training to farmers. The major focus of the centre is to promote and facilitate the adoption of Natural Farming practices among farmers in the region.

The KVK also has a live model of Azolla farming and well-managed research fields for evaluating the varietal performance of rice and sorghum. These trials are expected to help identify suitable varieties for cultivation under Natural Farming conditions.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor appreciated Dr. H. U. Vyas, Dr. Minaxi. V. Tiwari, Dr. V.K. Poshia, Farm Manager and other staff members for their dedicated efforts in promoting Natural Farming and well maintaining the research and demonstration fields. He encouraged the staff to work with greater dedication and commitment for the rapid adoption of Natural Farming practices among farmers and to contribute towards the production of healthy and safe food. It is a dream project of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modiji and Hon’ble Governor Gujarat, Shri Acharya Devvratji and certainly the safe food will help us in preventing many diseases in human and environment protection.

Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor further emphasized the importance of providing practical, hands-on training to farmers so that they can easily understand, adopt and implement Natural Farming practices in their fields.
