Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. Z. P. Patel launched Herbal Gulal branded as "Nav Gul", a natural and non-toxic colorant developed from marigold flower petals. The initiative was undertaken by the Department of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture, ASPEE College of Horticulture, Navsari Agricultural University (NAU), Navsari. The launch event was held in a solemn presence of Dr. T. R. Ahlawat, Director of Research and Dean PGS; Dr. Alka Singh, Principal and Dean, ASPEE College of Horticulture; Dr. Lalit Mahatma, Associate Director of Research; Dr. S. L. Chawla, Professor (Floriculture) and Dr. Dipal Bhatt, Assistant Professor (Floriculture). Nav Gul is free from harmful chemicals and safe for human skin, making it an ideal choice for traditional celebrations and religious ceremonies.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, lauded the efforts of the faculty of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture for their creative research and value addition approach. He emphasized the importance of developing green alternatives that not only preserves the environment but also opens new avenues for rural entrepreneurship and livelihood generation. The product will be very comforting for the environmentally conscious consumers and can potentially increase the income of flower growers.
