World Cotton Day on dated 7^th October, 2026 celebrated at Regional Cotton Research Station (RCRS), Navsari Agricultural University, Bharuch. More than hundred (100) members including students, faculty members of Regional Cotton Research Station and College of Agriculture, Bharuch participated on this special occasion. Dr. K V. Vadodariya, Research Scientist & Head, Regional Cotton Research Station, NAU, Bharuch, delivered a special lecture on importance of “World Cotton Day”. He also emphasis the importance of cotton in the country and brief about the historical Regional Cotton Research Station established since 1913. On this special occasion Dr. D. D. Patel, Principal, College of Agriculture, NAU, Bharuch and Dr. A. D. Raj Principal, Polytechnic in Agriculture, NAU, Bharuch remain present and gave their introductory remarks on occasion of the World Cotton Day. Following the programme, all the faculties and students have carried out march along with World Cotton Day banner and slogan placards to raise awareness about the significance of cotton and its contribution to the human being. During this session students visited cotton field and faculties demonstrated different research activities carried out by the RCRS, Bharuch viz., different cotton varieties, different experiments on cotton, HDPS trials, different species of cotton, germplasm collection and seed production of cotton and pigeon pea varieties. Students also interacted with faculties for their queries on cotton. At the end of the session Dr. J. R. Pandya delivered vote of thanks to the dignitaries and all the participants.
