As per the instructions and guidance of Hon'ble VC, an evaluation trial of a new fruit crop “Avocado” was initiated for the first time in South Gujarat, under AICRP-F. Mega plantation work consisting of casuarina, Teak and Mahogani was also completed and named as “Amrut Vatika Plantation” as a part of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsava” in the gracious presence of the dignitaries. Hon'ble VC also visited the newly developed plantation of natural rubber and gave suggestions for development of farmer friendly technology in fruit crops.
Dr. D. K. Sharma, Research Scientist and head of AES, Paria has presented the brief account of progress made in ongoing research and development activities and the same was appreciated by both the dignitaries.
