Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. Z. P. Patel along with Dr. Vikas Naik, ADR visited the Agricultural Experimental Station (AES), Paria on May 09, 2024. During the visit, Dr. D. K. Sharma, Head of the research station, provided a comprehensive overview of ongoing activities and future strategies for upscaling research and development projects for the benefit of farming community.
Hon’ble VC commended the progress made so far and emphasized on developing the strategies to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change, particularly on mango cultivation. He also inspected a recently established rubber plantation and expressed his satisfaction with the performance and offered suggestions for its management. He also conducted a thorough review of ongoing research experiments, acknowledging the team's efforts and providing valuable guidance for enhancing farm infrastructure and research facilities.
Hon’ble VC has shown a keen interest in strengthening infrastructure, particularly in remote sub-stations like Paria. Notable achievements includes the completion of a 2.5 km precast compound wall, a 2 km mattle road, barbed wire fencing, and the refurbishment of godowns at AES Paria. Plans are underway for the reconstruction of existing roads.
