A State level seminar on ‘Current Development in Wood Science and Technology for Green Economy’ was jointly organized Gujarat Timber Merchant Federation Gandhinagar, KVK Navsari and College of Forestry, Navsari during December 24-25, 2022 at NAU Navsari. 

The inaugural programme of this seminar was presided by Shri S. K. Chaturvedi, IFS, PCCF and Head of Forest Department, Gujarat in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. Z. P. Patel as chief guest; along with notable dignitaries Shri. Nareshbhai Patel, MLA-Gandevi; Shri. R. C. Patel, MLA-Jalalpore; Shri. Rakesh Desai, MLA-Navsari; Dr. N. M. Chauhan, DEE; Dr. H. V. Pandya, Registrar; Dr. P. K. Shrivastava, Dean, Forestry; Shri. Maniswara Raja, IFS, CCF Valsad Circle and other dignitaries. 

In his chief guest remarks, Hon’ble-Vice Chancellor extolled the transformation of conventional wood technology into consumer driven advanced wood science enterprise to make it more viable and sustainable in the longer run. 

All the dignitaries congratulated organizers for organizing such a seminar on a very needy topic. Around 300 stakeholders, farmers and faculties took part in this gala seminar. The seminar comprised of the exhibition of products developed at NAU, Navsari at various state of art facilities created, Banana Pseudostem Processing Unit, Bio-fertilizer & Bio-pesticide unit, Post-Harvest Technology, Bamboo Resource Center and Wooden & Bamboo Decorates Workshop followed by brainstorming session.
