Navsari Agricultural University celebrated its Foundation Day (20th year of Establishment) along with the 60th Diamond Jubilee Year of N. M. College of Agriculture, Navsari on May 01, 2024, in the worthy presence of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of NAU Dr. Z. P. Patel as President and Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University Dr. Kishorsinh N. Chavda as the Chief Guest of the Ceremony.
As the President of this ceremony, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of NAU Dr. Z. P. Patel acquainted all with the phenomenal progress of the University since 1965 and urged the farmers and scientists to propagate the plantations of new crops like Rubber, Avocado etc. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to continue to serve its primary stakeholders – the farmers and the students – at a benchmark level.
Veteran Eminent Cotton Scientist Late Dr. C. T. Patel was awarded the “NAU Life Time Achievement Award” for his dedicated 33 years of service and pioneering contributions to the domain; which was received by his grandson Shri Pareshbhai Patel.
Former Chairman of GPSC and present member of UPSC Dr. Dineshbhai Dasa was awarded the “NAU Ratna Award” for being the shining alumni of the campus. Dr. Dasa emphasized on guidance through competitive exam cell for spreading awareness and preparing students for GPSC and UPSC exams and showed his readiness to support such endeavor.
The Dean of Agriculture and DSW Dr. R. M. Naik proposed the vote of thanks and Dr. Mehul G. Thakkar, MoC skillfully set the tone for the programme with his exceptional hosting abilities, creating the perfect ambiance for the event. The event was physically attended by 300+ Faculty Members, Awardee Farmers, and Winner Students along with Members of the Board of Management, Academic, Research and Extension Councils, University Officers, Deans, Principals, HoDs and other invited guests. It was also live telecasted for wider section of students and staff at 3 different locations and on YouTube.
