The 21st AGRESCO PPSC meeting was held at Training Hall, KVK, Surat on March 11-12, 2025. Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Z. P. Patel chaired the inaugural session. Dr.T. R. Ahlawat, Director of Research; Dr. H. R. Sharma, DEE; Dr. Lalit Mahatma, ADR; Dr. J. J. Pastagia, HOD, Dept. of Entomology, NMCA and Dr. H. R. Desai, Convener PPSC, NAU along with other members were present in the inaugural session.

In his presidential remarks, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor shared his extensive experience in the field of Plant Protection and encouraged members to identify the challenges faced by farmers in the region, particularly those related to their crops. He emphasized the importance of finding practical solutions through concrete research and actionable recommendations, focusing on sustainable agricultural practices, food security, and the well-being of farmers. The Plant Protection Sub-Committee serves as a crucial platform for discussion, knowledge exchange, and the generation of ideas to address the issues faced by farmers and other stakeholders in crop production, processing, transport, trade, and consumer-level use. He further urged the initiation of an Area-Wide Pest Management Program and the adoption of effective and accurate protection measures.
