On April 2, 2025, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Z. P. Patel inaugurated the Office-cum-Laboratory Building and Biochar Processing Unit at the Coastal Soil Salinity Research Station, Danti-Umbharat. The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of Dr. T. R. Ahlawat, Director of Research & Dean PGS and Dr. R. G. Patil, Former Research Scientist & Member, Board of Management and hosted by Dr. V. R. Naik, Research Scientist, SWMRU, Dr. S. L. Pawar, Associate Research Scientist, SWMRU and Dr. H. K. Joshi, Assistant Research Scientist, CSSRS, Danti.

The day was made even more special with the 67th birthday celebration of Hon’ble VC.

Also present were all the University Officers, Principals and Deans of degree and polytechnic colleges, Senior Scientists from KVKs, Unit Heads from various NAU Research Stations, Heads of Departments and Progressive farmers of South Gujarat along with dedicated farmers from Ahmedabad and Anand districts.

A day that didn’t just open a facility — but opened doors to future possibilities in sustainable agriculture.
