Department of Plant Pathology, NMCA, Navsari and Indian Phytopathological Society is jointly organizing West Zone Symposium on “Current trends in Plant Disease, Detection, Diagnosis and Management” during November 16-17, 2022.

The Inaugural session of this symposium was held today in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Z. P. Patel as Patron and Chairman of the event; Dr. Rakesh Pandey, President of Indian Phytopathological Society, IARI, New Delhi as Chief guest; Dr. V. I. Benagi, former Vice Chancellor, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad as Special Guest; Dr. T. R. Ahlawat, Director of Research, NAU as Co-chairman; Dr. R. M. Naik, Principal & Dean NMCA and university officers of NAU. 

In the presidential address, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor discussed about modern management strategies for plant diseases and  importance of crop protection in improving productivity. He also congratulated organizing secretaries Dr. K. B. Rakholiya and Dr. Priya John and their entire team for organizing this great scientific event at NAU Navsari. 

Around 200 students and faculties have registered for this gala symposium. During the event a souvenir cum book of abstracts consisting of four lead lectures and 129 abstracts were released. Entire event was hosted by Mrs. Kotramma Addangadi.
