NAU Navsari, is hosting a transformative National Level Training Program on "Entrepreneurship Opportunities in Exports and Imports of Agricultural Commodities" from December 18 to 20, 2023, under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Z. P. Patel. This pivotal initiative aims to nurture entrepreneurial spirit within the realm of agricultural export and import. This event is sponsored by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, under the aegis of the National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP), organized by the Centre for Advanced Agricultural Science and Technology (CAAST).
The event was inaugurated and presided over by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Z. P. Patel. Mr. Abhishek Nathani, CEO of Vama Skylight LLP, Daman, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Paresh Solanki, International Export-Import Trainer, Exporter & Director of OES Export Import Pvt. Ltd. and Global Business Consulting, Ahmedabad, graced as a Special Guest. As an esteemed Guest of Honour, Dr. T. R. Ahlawat, Director of Research & Dean PGS; PI & Nodal Officer, NAHEP-CAAST, NAU, Navsari, added his distinguished presence to the event. Dr. S. K. Sinha, Co-PI, CAAST-NAU, Navsari, extended a warm welcome to all participants and Dr. Susheel Singh, Co-PI, CAAST-NAU, Navsari, provided a concise overview of the program. Dr. T. R. Ahlawat, Mr. Paresh Solanki and Mr. Abhishek Nathani, in their special remarks, underscored the transformative impact of such programs on fostering entrepreneurship in the agricultural import-export domain. They emphasized the role of agricultural exports in creating jobs, income opportunities and value-added products, thereby benefiting farmers and rural communities.
Hon'ble VC, in his presidential address, encouraged students to envision themselves as job creators rather than job seekers, utilizing opportunities in agricultural commodity exports. The inaugural function was concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Vipulkumar Patel, Co-PI, CAAST-NAU, Navsari. Dr. M. S. Sankanur, Co-PI, CAAST-NAU, Navsari, anchored the entire event.
Over the course of the three-day national training, experts with vast experience from academia and industry in the field of export-import in agricultural commodity will deliver lectures to approximate 452 attendees including PG students, farmers, entrepreneurs, aspiring exporters and faculties.
