The programme was inaugurated and presided over by Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. Z. P. Patel in the gracious presence of Dr. Parvinder Kaushal, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Uttarakhand University of Horticulture & Forestry, Bharsar, Uttarakhand as Chief Guest; Dr. A. K. Dhawan, President, IES, PAU, Ludhiana, Punjab as Special Guest; Dr. Sanjeev K. Chauhan, Deputy Co-ordinator Agroforestry (IUFRO) & Director of Research, Dr. YSP UHF, Nauni-Solan-Himachal Pradesh and Dr. T. R. Ahlawat, DR & Dean PGS as Guests of Honour; Dr. P. K. Shrivastava, Dean, Forestry and Dr. N. S. Thakur, Organizing Secretary.
Hon'ble VC stated that the aim behind the organization of this event was to deliberate on latest issues and concerns of farmers, foresters and fabricators, agroforestry, tree improvement, silviculture and management, utilization and value addition of forest genetic resources, forests, climate change and natural resource conservation, forest economics and policy.
Total 2 key note address, 12 lead lectures including 3 from USA and 1 from Nepal, 198 abstracts compressing 85 Oral and 113 poster were presented in the conference. 180 participants across pan India covering fifteen states participated in this conference.
The entire programme was anchored by Dr. Swati Sharma, Assistant Professor, AABMI. During the inaugural programme, a book of abstracts was released by the dignitaries.
