Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. Z. P. Patel inaugurated the Inter Polytechnic Kabaddi tournament of NAU, organized by Horticulture Polytechnic, Paria on December 5, 2022. While addressing to the players Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor highlighted the importance of Kabaddi and other games and mentioned that the Kabaddi is a top rated game of India and is played worldwide. He said, the word of Kabaddi is derived from Tamil word Kaipidi which implies gripping hands. Kabaddi is considered a unique game as it doesn't need any equipment like other games, only requires a playground. He also said that the Kabaddi games not only enhances physical strength but also boosts our mental power. 

Dr. S. S. Gaikwad, Principal, Horticulture Polytechnic, Paria; Dr. D. K. Sharma, Research Scientist (Horti.) AES; Dr. Viral Parmar, Principal, Agriculture Polytechnic, Vyara; team managers and all staff & faculties of Horticulture Polytechnic were present during the inaugural function. Total 72 players from various Polytechnics of NAU participated in this Kabaddi tournament.
