Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, NAU, Navsari, Dr. R. M. Naik visited the Natural Farming
demonstration and research facilities at the College of Agriculture, Bharuch.
He was accompanied by Director of Research & Dean PG Studies, Dr. Timur R. Ahlawat;
Director of Students’ Welfare, Prof. Jaimin R. Naik; Associate Director of Research, Dr. Vikas
R. Naik and Dr. Lalit Mahatma.
Dr. Divesh D. Patel, Principal, CoA, NAU, Bharuch along with faculty members Dr. Tushar U.
Patel, Dr. Sunil Patil, Dr. K. N. Rana and Dr. J. R. Pandya explained the various activities being
carried out at the Natural Farming demonstration centre.
The college has developed a Natural Farming demonstration model with crops such as
pigeon pea, green gram, black gram and cotton along with various fruit trees and drumstick
plants. The college also regularly prepares and demonstrates Natural Farming inputs such as
Jivamrut, Bijamrut, Ghanjivamrut, Dashparni Ark, Neemastra and Brahmastra and provides
practical training to farmers.
The main objective of the centre is to promote Natural Farming practices among farmers
and facilitate their adoption in the region.
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor appreciated Principal and the entire team for their dedicated
efforts in promoting Natural Farming and maintaining the demonstration and research
fields.
He encouraged the faculty and staff to work with greater dedication and commitment
towards the wider adoption of Natural Farming practices among farmers and to contribute
towards the production of healthy and safe food.
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor also emphasized the importance of providing practical and hands-
on training to farmers, enabling them to understand, adopt and implement Natural Farming
practices effectively in their own fields.
