Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, NAU, Navsari, Dr. R. M. Naik visited the College of Agriculture, Bharuch, for the first time after assuming office as Vice-Chancellor. During the visit, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor reviewed various farm, academic, research and student welfare activities of the college.
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, NAU, Navsari, Dr. R. M. Naik visited the College of Agriculture, Bharuch, for the first time after assuming office as Vice-Chancellor. During the visit, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor reviewed various farm, academic, research and student welfare activities of the college. He visited the farm and observed activities related to vermicompost production, biomass recycling, phytoremediation and water-hyacinth-based research.
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor interacted with postgraduate students and faculty members and shared his views on biochar, Indigenous Technical Knowledge (ITKs), resource recycling and need-based agricultural research.
As a mark of his first visit to the college, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor planted a Sonpari tree on the campus.
He also inspected the newly constructed Polytechnic hostel and other hostel facilities, including the kitchen, sanitation and student amenities, and gave suggestions for further improvement.
During the academic interaction, Dr. D. D. Patel, Principal, CoA, NAU, Bharuch presented the achievements of the college in the areas of education, research, extension, student activities, publications, seed production and farmer-oriented activities.
Director of Students’ Welfare, Prof. J.R. Naik highlighted the importance of a strong academic work culture and student-focused activities. Director of Research & Dean PG Studies, Dr. T. R. Ahlawat provided guidance for strengthening future research activities in line with the vision of the University. Associate Director of Research Dr. V.R. Naik and Dr. Lalit Mahatma also accompanied Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor during the visit.
The visit concluded with a renewed commitment towards quality education, need-based research, sustainable agriculture and farmer-oriented extension activities, contributing to the overall development of students and the farming community.
