Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. Z. P. Patel, inaugurated the “UNDERGROUND FIBRE OPTIC CABLE NETWORK (12 km)” at Main Campus of NAU Navsari on August 31, 2024.
Shri Chirag B. Naik, Comptroller & Controlling Officer (IT), briefed about the advantages of this advanced network. This network has been meticulously designed to connect all major units of main campus directly from the server room including colleges, hostels, farms, library, gym and guesthouses through direct point-to-point fibre optic cable network connectivity.
This infrastructure ensures that students, staff and researchers at NAU have access to uninterrupted and fast internet connectivity. This development is not just a technological upgrade; it represents NAU's unwavering commitment to fostering a future-ready academic environment.
Whether on campus or in the fields and farms, the integration of IoT and AI-based devices is now more seamless than ever, enhancing the quality and scope of academic and research endeavors at NAU with the help of this FO network connectivity.
This initiative is a testament to NAU's dedication to integrating cutting-edge technology into its educational, extension education and research framework, ensuring that the university remains at the forefront of innovation in the agricultural sciences.
