Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. Z. P. Patel inaugurated the Agricultural Innovation & Entrepreneurship Conclave (AIEC), organized by the Centre for Advanced Agricultural Science and Technology (CAAST), NAU Navsari and sponsored by the ICAR, New Delhi, as part of the esteemed National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP). This is a significant event aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the agricultural domain which is scheduled to be held during December 4-8, 2023.

Dr. Anuradha Agrawal, National Coordinator (NAHEP-CAAST & Component 2) from ICAR, New Delhi, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Abdul Samad, Former Dean & Director of Instruction at Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Sciences University, Nagpur, acted as a Special Guest. Dr. Mahesh Chander (Principal Scientist & Former Joint Director, IVRI, UP) and Dr. T. R. Ahlawat (DR & Dean PGS; PI & Nodal Officer, NAHEP-CAAST, NAU, Navsari) were esteemed Guests of Honour.

Hon’ble VC emphasized the transformative impact of programs like these, igniting the flame of entrepreneurship within the agricultural sphere. Such initiatives not only contribute to national wealth but also significantly enhance the welfare of our invaluable farmers. Encouraging students to aspire beyond conventional job-seeking roles, the Honorable VC inspired them to evolve into job creators themselves.

Dr. R. P. Gunaga, Co-PI of NAHEP-CAAST, NAU, Navsari, concluded the inaugural program with heartfelt gratitude, encapsulating the essence of this momentous occasion. The conclave was a thriving hub of exchange and learning, witnessing active participation from approximately 400 members, comprising students, faculties, and enterprising minds from diverse universities and states across the nation.
