Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. Z. P. Patel inaugurated one day Workshop on 'Phoolpakoni Kheti - Ek Uttam Vyavsay' (Cultivation of flower crops: An excellent business) under AICRP on Floriculture at Floriculture Research Farm, ASPEE College of Horticulture on February 27, 2023 organized in collaboration with KVK, Navsari.

Hon’ble VC informed to adapt flower production as a business, as it is profitable to small and marginal farmers in climatic conditions of South Gujarat. He appreciated the efforts made by scientists of Floriculture Research Farm for developement, maintenance and supply of quality planting material of various ornamental crops and also suggested development of more quality planting material of marigold. He motivated farmers to adapt new flower crops for upliftment of living standard and socio-economic status. He also emphasized on not only production but also value addition of it for generating more income.

Dr. N. M. Chauhan, Director of Extension Education; Dr. Alka Singh, Principal and Dean, ACH;  Dr. S L. Chawla, Project In-charge, AICRP on Floriculture and Mr. Dhirubhai Patel, Progressive Farmer also motivated farmers for scientific cultivation of flowers.

138 flower growers of south Gujarat were benefited by live lectures of scientists at the Farm. Hon'ble VC also inaugurated a Propagation unit with rain shelter at Floriculture Research Farm.
