The inaugural function of PHC-2024 was graced by a noteworthy recorded message from Chief guest- Shri C. R. Patil, Member of Parliament, Navsari who inspired the University to work in collaboration with ISHRD, Uttarakhand for the betterment of the farming community and gave his blessings for successful conduction for the conclave.
The event also saw the distinguished presence of esteemed dignitaries including Dr. S. K. Malhotra, Director, ICAR-DKMA and Former Agriculture Commissioner, New Delhi as the chief guest; and guests of honour Dr. R. K. Pathak, President, ISHRD, Lucknow; Dr. Sudhakar Pandey, ADG (Horticulture), ICAR New Delhi; Dr. T. R. Ahlawat, DR & Dean PG Studies, NAU along with Dr S K Dwivedi, PHC Coordinator, and Dr. Alka Singh, Organizing Secretary and Dean, ASPEE College of Horticulture, Navsari.
Hon’ble VC presided over the inaugural function and inspired the delegates and participants to deliberate on the vital role of infrastructure, governance reforms and most importantly, cutting-edge technologies in catapulting our horticulture sector towards self-sustainable and self-reliant India. He updated the horticultural technologies developed at NAU and emphasised upon the use of bio-char for increasing carbon content for the betterment of marginal farmers.
Around 250 delegates and students are actively participating in the conclave.
