Held at the KVK campus, the festival brought together farmers, experts, and enthusiasts to delve into the intricacies of mango farming.
The programme was inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Z. P. Patel. In presidential address, he highlighted the importance of thoroughly understanding the physiology, pest and disease management, and nutrient needs of mangoes before planting. He encouraged farmers to leverage the advanced agricultural technologies and expertise available at Navsari Agricultural University to improve their cultivation practices.
Mr. Jayeshbhai Patel, President, Olpad Choryashi Taluka Sangh; Mr. H. M. Chawda, JDH, Surat; Dr. M. C. Patel, MCRS, Surat; Dr. Sanjay Jha, Principal, ASBI, Surat; Mr. D. K. Padaliya, DDH, Surat; Dr. B. M. Tandel, I/C RS, RHRS, Navsari; Mr. N. G. Gamit, PD, ATMA, Surat and Mr. S. B. Gamit, DAO, Surat graced the programme.
Dr. B. M. Tandel, Mr. D. K. Padaliya and Dr. R. K. Patel conducted series of technical sessions that provided deep insights into modern mango cultivation techniques. Total 175 farmers actively participated in the programme. 36 mango varieties were exhibited in the exhibition. Five progressive farmers practicing natural farming in mango were felicitated by the dignitaries.
